Our Story

Cycle World of Suriname was founded in 2009 with the vision of raising the standard of cycling and building a strong sport‑cycling culture in Suriname. From the beginning, our focus has been on quality, performance, and long‑term support for cyclists of all levels.

We started at Hofstraat #64 and from day one operated as a Trek Authorized Dealer, offering internationally recognized bicycles known for innovation and reliability. Over the years, we became known for our sport and performance bikes, including road bikes and mountain bikes, backed by expert advice and dependable aftersales service.

To better serve our customers, we later relocated to our current main location at Tweekinderenweg 34, allowing for improved accessibility and connection with the cycling community.

In 2019, we expanded our services with bike rentals under the name Fiets Plezier, making cycling more accessible to both locals and visitors.

A major milestone followed on September 19, 2025, with the opening of our second location, L’Occasion—an event and experience center where rides are organized, bikes are rented, and cyclists can enjoy drinks and bites before, during, or after their ride.

Today, Cycle World of Suriname continues to support, connect, and inspire cyclists through quality products, professional service, and a shared passion for cycling.
